Age UK Northamptonshire
Age Concern is the UK's leading independent charitable body committed to the well-being of all older people.
As a caring organisation we are committed to the promotion and delivery of good quality services and projects to enable people to get the most from later life.
We undertake to influence policy and practice and change views about ageing in order to create greater understanding about the needs of older people - both in terms of their care and the opportunities they seek to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience.
We will do this by applying our experience in new and ingenious ways to meet their needs.
Age Concern Northamptonshire was delighted to announce the launch of our 2011 Calendar on 8thSeptember. The calendar immediately attracted attention from the press and the public. That wasn’t surprising because it features visitors to our Venton Centre in Northampton “getting their kit off” in support of Age Concern. Our models ranged in age from 17 to 94.
What’s the message behind our calendar? Age doesn’t matter but older people do! The thing that links all our models together is their zest for life and their willingness to do whatever it takes to support our work with older and more vulnerable people in our community.
The Calendar was the brainchild of Vicky Denny (pictured bottom right) who told members of the press, “We just really needed to raise some funds for our centre and I thought it would be a bit of fun.” Vicky’s friend, photographer Julia Guiden said, "The ladies were a real inspiration, they just seemed to have the time of their life."
Many thanks to all those who modelled for the calendar or helped to get it published. It will be a real inspiration to everyone who has it hanging on their wall and a great help in our work for older people.
If you would like to buy our 2011 calendar and support our work with older people please call 01604 604500.

Aim to offer a comprehensive support service to the unpaid Carers
There are many definitions of well-being as the meaning is different to each person.
According to the work by New Economics Foundation there are 5 components of well-being these are: choice, environment (and security), relationship, emotions and personal development. In essence Wellbeing is about 'Looking after me'.
